Manage Void Permissions

Overview

Void Permissions allow administrators to control which staff members can void items or orders in Platter POS. By assigning the appropriate permissions to each user role, businesses can prevent unauthorized voids, improve accountability, and maintain accurate transaction records.

Prerequisites

Before configuring Void Permissions, ensure that:

  • Logged in to the Platter Admin Office with an Administrator account and assigned a role that has permission to manage.

  • The staff roles have already been created.

  • The user accounts are assigned to the appropriate roles.

Steps

How to Configure Void Permissions

  1. Log in to the Platter Back Office.

  2. Navigate to Teams

  3. Select Roles & Permissions.

  4. Choose the user role you want to configure.

  5. Scroll to the Void Permissions section.

  6. Enable or disable the required void permissions for the selected role.

  7. Click Submit to apply the changes.

How to Void an Invoice

  1. Open the table containing the invoice you want to void.

  2. Navigate to the Checkout screen.

  3. Select Void Invoice.

  4. Enter the authorized Operation PIN.

  5. Select the appropriate reason for voiding the transaction.

  6. Tap Confirm; the invoice will be voided successfully.

Troubleshooting

  1. Void Invoice option is not visible

    • Verify that the user has the required Void Invoice permission.

    • Ensure the invoice is eligible to be voided.

    • Refresh the order and try again.

  2. Invalid Operation PIN

    • Confirm that the correct Operation PIN was entered.

    • Verify that the PIN belongs to an authorized user with void permissions.

    • Contact an administrator if the PIN is inactive or incorrect.

  3. Unable to confirm the void

    • Ensure a valid void reason has been selected.

    • Verify that all required fields are completed before tapping Confirm.

  4. Invoice was not voided

    • Refresh or reopen the table to verify the invoice status.

    • Check that the device has a stable internet connection.

    • Retry the void operation. If the issue persists, contact Platter Support.
