What is Chargeback?

A card payment reversed by the guest’s bank after a dispute.

Chargeback, explained

If a cardholder disputes a payment, their bank can reverse it while the dispute is reviewed. The merchant can respond with evidence such as a signed receipt or itemised bill.

Why it matters for your restaurant

Keeping itemised receipts and order history makes chargebacks easier to answer.
