Running a restaurant in Mississauga
Mississauga restaurants charge 13% Ontario HST (5% federal plus 8% provincial). Qualifying prepared food and non-alcoholic drinks totalling $4 or less before tax get a point-of-sale rebate of the 8% provincial part.
Takeout, curbside and phone orders
Many Mississauga restaurants sit in plazas with their own parking, so pickup and curbside matter. Platter keeps pickup, curbside and phone orders in one list with each guest’s name and number, and the kitchen sees them on the same KDS as dine-in tickets.
Large family tables
Big groups need tables pushed together and bills split fairly. Merge tables in a tap, order by seat with a guest count, then split the cheque equally, by seat or by item. Advanced Reservations, coming soon, adds table combinations for large parties and automatic table assignment without double booking.
Several locations across the region
Owners with sites in Port Credit, Streetsville, the City Centre area or neighbouring cities can manage every location from one back office, switch between them with the restaurant picker and compare sales across locations. Groups of three or more sites can use the Multi-location plan with a named account manager.
Mississauga’s food scene is spread out. There are waterfront patios in Port Credit, a historic main street in Streetsville and restaurants clustered around Square One, plus a long list of family-run places in plazas across the city. Many serve cuisines from around the world and rely on takeout as much as dine-in.
Platter helps with the details that make that work. Set separate dine-in, takeout and delivery prices for the same item. Add modifiers that are required, optional or multi-select, so spice levels and sides reach the kitchen correctly. Kitchen profiles let each station see only its own items, and allergy notes appear on every ticket.
Delivery orders from Uber Eats, DoorDash and SkipTheDishes arrive in Platter through your own Deliverect account. At the end of the night, reports show sales by dine-in, takeout and delivery, so you can see which channel is carrying the business. Search order history by date, table or invoice number when a guest calls about an order.
