Card payments in Platter are processed by Moneris, at Moneris preferred pricing for Platter customers. Pair Moneris terminals over Wi-Fi and send the amount straight from the bill. Subject to Moneris approval; preferred pricing applies while you use Platter.
How it works
- Step 1
Set up Moneris with your onboarding specialist
New to Moneris? Your Platter rep introduces you to Moneris, which opens your merchant account. Already with Moneris? Moneris confirms which pricing applies to you.
- Step 2
Pair your terminals over Wi-Fi
Pair each Moneris terminal with Platter over your restaurant’s Wi-Fi so it’s ready at the counter or the table.
- Step 3
Send the amount from the bill
Close a table in Platter and the amount goes to the terminal. Split equally, by seat or by item, then collect each share.
- Step 4
See every payment in your reports
Card payments land in Platter’s sales reports with tips, taxes and payment type, ready for your day-end report.
Preferred pricing for Platter customers
Interchange passed through at cost plus a published Moneris margin that drops as your monthly card sales grow. See the rates on the pricing page.
No card numbers on your devices
Card details are taken on the Moneris terminal, and Platter doesn’t store card numbers on your iPads or phones.

Split a cheque equally, by seat or by item. Paid and outstanding amounts show at the top of every invoice.

Your onboarding specialist walks through payment set-up with you, along with menus, floor plan, printers and staff roles.
Card payments in Platter run on Moneris terminals paired with your POS. Once your terminals are paired, every card payment shows up in Platter alongside cash and gift card payments.
Servers close bills the way guests ask for them. A table of six can split equally, pay by seat, or pay item by item, and partial payments are tracked so nobody leaves without settling. Service charges, discounts and promos are applied before the amount reaches the terminal.
Receipts can be printed on an Epson printer or sent by SMS or email. At the end of the night, the POS dashboard breaks down sales by payment type, along with tips, taxes, discounts and refunds, and the back office has 30+ reports you can export to CSV.
Your merchant agreement is directly with Moneris, and Moneris bills its fees directly. Moneris preferred pricing is subject to Moneris approval, applies while you use Platter, and merchants already processing with Moneris may not qualify. Hardware, including terminals, isn’t included in a Platter plan.
