Payments
Tap to Pay on iPhone and Android, powered by Stripe
Tap to Pay in the Platter mobile app turns a server’s phone into a contactless card reader, so you can take payment at the table, on the patio or at the curb without carrying a terminal. It’s powered by Stripe. Moneris processes all other card payments in Platter.
How it works
- Step 1
Turn on Tap to Pay
Your onboarding specialist sets up Tap to Pay for your restaurant in the Platter back office.
- Step 2
Open the bill on a phone
Servers open the table or order in the Platter app on their iPhone or Android phone.
- Step 3
Tap the card or phone
The guest taps a contactless card or digital wallet on the back of the server’s phone.
- Step 4
Review it in your reports
Tap to Pay sales show with tips, taxes and payment type on the POS dashboard and in the back office reports.
No extra hardware
Take contactless payments on phones your team already carries, without a separate terminal.
Tableside and curbside
Close bills at the table, on the patio or at the curb, then send the receipt by text or email.
Same checkout for your team
Splitting, discounts, service charges and partial payments work the same way as at the counter.
Tap to Pay in the Platter mobile app lets servers accept contactless cards and digital wallets directly on their phone. It’s handy for patios, busy tableside service and curbside pickup, where walking a terminal around slows things down.
Bills can still be split equally, by seat or by item, and paid and outstanding amounts sit at the top of every invoice. Receipts go out by SMS or email when the guest pays.
Tap to Pay is powered by Stripe. All other card payments in Platter, at the counter and on terminals, are processed by Moneris at Moneris preferred pricing for Platter customers.
