Messaging· Your restaurant’s own Twilio account
Text guests from your own Twilio account
Platter’s SMS messages run on your restaurant’s own Twilio account. Reservation confirmations and digital receipts go out by text. Reminders with your own wording come with Advanced Reservations, coming soon.

How it works
- Step 1
Set up a Twilio account
Your restaurant uses its own Twilio account for text messages.
- Step 2
Connect it to Platter
Link your Twilio account with Platter so messages are sent from your account.
- Step 3
Take bookings as usual
When a host saves a reservation, Platter texts the guest a confirmation from your account.
- Step 4
Let Platter send them
Confirmations go out automatically when a booking is made or changed, and guests can get their receipt by text at checkout.
Your account, your messages
Texts are sent through your restaurant’s own Twilio account.
Automatic reservation texts
Guests get an SMS confirmation when they book, and another if the time or party size changes.
Receipts without paper
Send a digital receipt by SMS when the guest pays, or by email if they prefer.
Text messages are one of the simplest ways to keep guests informed. Platter uses Twilio to send them, and the messages run on your restaurant’s own Twilio account.
For reservations, Platter texts the guest a confirmation when a booking is made, and again if the time or party size changes. Advanced Reservations, coming soon, adds reminders by text and email with your own wording, replies to confirm or cancel, and table-ready texts for the waitlist.
At checkout, servers can send a digital receipt by SMS instead of printing one. It’s handy for takeout and for guests who want a record of the bill on their phone. Guests who would rather not get a text can have their receipt sent by email or printed on an Epson printer.
Reservations, including SMS confirmations, are part of the Pro plan. Messages go one way, from your restaurant to the guest. Today’s reservations also show on the floor plan, so hosts can see who’s coming.
