Overview

This article explains how to use the item detail screen in Platter POS. The item detail screen allows staff to quickly view an item’s description, modifiers, add-ons, and notes, and then add the item directly to an order. It also helps users understand item details without holding or long-pressing; simply tapping the item opens the detail view.

Prerequisites

• User must be logged into the Platter POS

• Item must be created in the Back Office with:

  • Description (optional)

  • Modifiers (optional)

  • Add-ons (optional)

• The menu must be synced to the POS

Steps

1. On the order screen, tap any item card.

   • In Platter, users do not need to press or hold; a simple tap opens the item detail screen. To add an item straight away without opening its details, tap + on the card instead.

     

2. The item detail screen appears and shows:

   • Item name, photo, and price

   • Item description next to the price (if added in Back Office)

   • Modifier groups assigned to the item (required groups must be selected)

   • Add-ons linked to the item

   • Note section for special instructions

     

3. Review details and make selections for modifiers and add-ons.

   

4. Tap Add to add the item to the order. Tap X to close without adding.

Troubleshooting

Item details are not appearing.

• Check whether a description has been added for the item in the Back Office.

• Ensure the POS has synced the latest menu updates.

Modifiers or add-ons are missing.

• Confirm that modifiers and add-ons are assigned to the item in Back Office.

• Make sure they are active and not disabled.

• Refresh the POS menu if changes were recently made.
