What is Flat-rate pricing?

One bundled percentage charged on every card payment, whatever the card.

Flat-rate pricing, explained

Flat-rate pricing charges the same percentage, sometimes plus a fixed fee, on every card. It is simple to read, but the rate has to cover the most expensive cards, so lower-cost cards are overcharged.

Why it matters for your restaurant

Restaurants with many debit or basic credit payments often pay more on flat-rate pricing than on interchange-plus.
