What is Interac debit?

Canada’s debit card network, used to pay directly from a bank account.

Interac debit, explained

Interac debit payments come from the guest’s bank account rather than a credit line. They are usually priced as a small fixed fee per payment rather than a percentage.

Why it matters for your restaurant

Debit is usually cheaper to accept than credit, and Canadian card rules don’t allow surcharges on debit.
