Using the orders list in the Platter

Overview

This article explains how to use the Orders list in Platter POS. The Orders list provides a complete overview of all orders, such as Dine-In, Takeout, and Delivery, in one place. Users can filter and select orders to review details or take action on open or closed receipts.

Prerequisites

  • User must be logged into the Platter POS

  • The role must have permission to access the Orders module.

  • Orders must be synced and updated on the POS

Steps

1. Accessing the Orders List

  1. Tap Orders in the left navigation bar.

  2. The Orders list displays all order types for the selected date:

    • Dine-In

    • Takeout

    • Delivery

2. Understanding Order Status

The End time column shows the order status:

  • Open tag - Active order (the order is still open)

  • End time shown - Paid order (the receipt is finalized)

3. Reading the Orders List

Each entry in the Orders list shows:

  • Invoice number

  • Order number

  • Table/Token (table name for Dine-In, token for Takeout and Delivery)

  • Amount (total)

  • Start time and End time (or the Open tag)

  • Type (Dine in, Takeout, Delivery)

If a table has multiple receipts (when the bill is split), each receipt appears as a separate line with the same order number.

4. Filtering the Orders List

Tap Filters to narrow the list, then tap Apply:

  • Booking type:

    • All

    • Dine in

    • Takeout

    • Delivery

  • Status:

    • All

    • Open

    • Closed

You can also pick another date with the date button, or search by order or invoice number.

5. Using the Orders List

  1. Tap any order to see its receipt on the right side (items, payments, and totals). From here you can Print or Email the receipt.

  2. Tap Open order to open the order, where you can:

    • Add or remove items (for open orders)

    • Adjust modifiers or notes

    • Tap Checkout to take or adjust payment

  3. For paid (closed) orders, open the order and tap Checkout to view the payments or perform allowed actions such as voiding, editing, and refunding. A finalized receipt must be unfinalized before it can be changed.

Troubleshooting

Order not visible

  • Check the selected date and filter options (Booking type and Status).

  • Pull down on the list to refresh it.

Unable to edit an order

  • The order may be closed (finalized). Tap Unfinalize first.

  • User role may not allow editing open orders.

Filtering not working

  • Ensure the list isn’t filtered to a single type or status. Set both filters to All to see every order.
