Split Bill by Items (Custom Split) in Platter POS
Overview
This article explains how to split a bill in Platter POS by manually assigning specific items to different bills.
Prerequisites
Manager or Admin access
Split Bill feature enabled in Platter Back Office
POS synced and updated
Custom split is available on iPad (tablet) only
Steps
1. Select Split Bill
Open the table, tap Checkout, and tap Split bill.

Select Custom split.

2. Enter Number of Bills
Use – and + to set how many bills you want to create (at least 2).

Tap Next.
3. Assign Items to Bills
The Custom split bill pop-up appears showing all ordered items.
Tick the bill for each item: Bill 1, Bill 2, Bill 3, etc. An item ticked on more than one bill is shared equally between them. The Subtotal row shows each bill's amount.
Every item must be assigned, and every bill must have at least one item, before continuing.
Tap Next to generate the split bills.

4. Complete Payments
Tap each invoice at the top of the screen and process it separately.
After an invoice is fully paid, it shows a green Paid tag.
The table cannot be closed until all invoices are paid.
Once all invoices are paid, the user must manually finalize the table.

5. Revert Split (Undo Split)
After a split, the Split bill button becomes Revert split. Select an unpaid invoice to use it.

Tap Revert split and confirm with Revert split.
All split bills merge back into a single invoice.
6. Finalize Payment
After splitting, process each bill separately (cash, card, or other available methods).
Once all split bills are fully paid, the user must tap Finalize to close the table manually.
