Manage Void Permissions
Overview
Void Permissions allow administrators to control which staff members can void items or orders in Platter POS. By assigning the appropriate permissions to each user role, businesses can prevent unauthorized voids, improve accountability, and maintain accurate transaction records.
Prerequisites
Before configuring Void Permissions, ensure that:
Logged in to the Platter Admin Office with an Administrator account and assigned a role that has permission to manage.
The staff roles have already been created.
The user accounts are assigned to the appropriate roles.
Steps
How to Configure Void Permissions
Log in to the Platter Back Office.
Navigate to Teams
Select Roles & Permissions.
Choose the user role you want to configure.

Scroll to the Void Permissions section.

Enable or disable the required void permissions for the selected role.
Click Submit to apply the changes.
How to Void an Invoice
Open the table containing the invoice you want to void.
Tap Checkout.

Tap Void invoice. This is available only while the invoice has no payments; void any payments on it first.

If your role does not have void permission, enter the authorized Operation PIN.

Select the appropriate reason for voiding the transaction.

Tap Void invoice to confirm. The invoice is marked Voided.

Troubleshooting
Void Invoice option is not available
Void invoice is greyed out on invoices that are already paid or voided.
If Platter shows "Invoice can't be void when payments exist", void the payments on the invoice first.
Verify that the user has the required Void Invoice permission, or enter an authorized Operation PIN.
Invalid Operation PIN
Confirm that the correct Operation PIN was entered.
Verify that the PIN belongs to an authorized user with void permissions.
Contact an administrator if the PIN is inactive or incorrect.
Unable to confirm the void
Ensure a void reason has been selected. Platter shows "Please select one before confirming." if none is selected.
Invoice was not voided
Refresh or reopen the table to verify the invoice status.
Check that the device has a stable internet connection.
Retry the void operation. If the issue persists, contact Platter Support.
